I recently stepped aboard Avalon Waterways River Cruises to get a true feel for what they offer. Websites can give you the specs, but nothing compares to walking the decks, meeting the crew, and experiencing the atmosphere firsthand.

Their team summed up their brand in three words: Spacious / Choice / Views
I’d add my own three words: Serene / Water Views / Variety of Sailings —because that’s exactly how it felt on board.

Every river cruise line has its own personality, and AVALON gave me the feeling of loving the space in the rooms. You have your own escape, which is great if you are introverted (like me!). I’d love to lay in a bed and just watch the world pass by while reading my book.

So, is this the right fit for you?
✔️ Perfect for someone interested in getting started in River Cruising and wants a brand that can fit everyone - as they have active experiences and traditional tours.
❌ Not ideal if you’re interested in a boutique brand. Avalon is a great ship, and it’s apart of a much larger more ‘corporate’ brand with big bus tours. Their river cruising is its own thing, but we know that they know how to maximize those on the ground experiences.
