UNITED KINGDOM’S ETA REQUIREMENT

If you’re dreaming of a trip to the United Kingdom - you MUST read this…

The United Kingdom has added an Electronic Travel Authorization requirement. This includes for US Citizens starting January 2025. It gives you authorization to travel to the UK without requiring a VISA

Who Needs the ETA?

• USA citizens traveling after the 7th of January 2025

• Travelers coming to the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, visiting family or short-term study

• Travelers transitioning through the UK (including if you are not going through UK border control)

How Much Is the ETA?

• 10 Pounds for Everyone

• Please know that Babies & Children MUST apply (you can apply for them)
  

• You CANNOT get a refund after applying

How Long does the ETA Take?

• They say up to 3 working days

• Mine took 2 minutes (literally)

• Once the decision has been made, it’s linked with your passport

• Your ETA lasts 2 years (unless you get a new passport, in which case you need a new ETA)

How Do You Get the ETA?

• On the WEB version or on the APP version

• Clear (without glare) photo of your passport

• Recent photo of you with white background OR camera shot within the app

• Phone Number (optional)

• Home Address

• Job

• Any Convictions or Crimes
